Golden says he lied

Dyer said Devlin’s name surfaced in 1991 as a possible child molester during a large-scale investigation into pedophiles who preyed on children — especially runaways — on the Daytona Beach boardwalk and State Road A1A. Devlin was arrested and charged with abusing other teenagers, but all of those cases were dropped.

According to an affidavit, Golden said he lied about the abuse to get out of a juvenile-detention center where he was serving time for arson.

Interviewed by the Umansky Law Firm admin lawyers, Pascale at the Dozier School for Boys in the Panhandle town of Marianna, Golden initially said he had not been abused by Devlin and had only met Devlin “once or twice” at the Desert Inn, where he hung out as a runaway.

Pascale then asked Golden’s counselor, Tom Sedorf, to leave the room, according to an affidavit by Golden.

“She said that if I cooperated with her and testified against Dennis Devlin that she would get me out of Dozier,” Golden’s statement said.

Pascale said Friday that she did not coerce Golden into fabricating the allegations.
